Thee Hurricanes

This conglomerate includes some of the finest ska, reggae, soul musicians in Los Angeles. Initially put together as a backing band for Jamaican veteran artists during the concert promotion days, thee Hurricanes are a true tour de force in vintage era music.  Keys player Dan Boer & Lead Guitar Zac Pike were both members of "Dynamic Pressure" who essentially were thee band to kickstart the vintage era reggae movement in California.  Jeff Govan is a versatile bass player who has played in countless groups throughout LA for the past 30 years. Rhythm guitarist Brian Dixon is a founding member of the Aggrolites & sound engineer who's work can be heard on most of the current recordings for Angel City Records.  Scott Abels has a long history playing in many successful ska, punk, reggae groups including but not limited to Jimmy Cliff along with Dan & Zac. Scott's independent work as a musician, producer, engineer can be heard through his Stahl project with Angel City Records.   Thee Hurricanes were the backing band for Jackie Mendez in her first few years of live performances along with her debut EP and single.   Check out their release with Angel City Records featuring Charly Organaire, Roy Panton & Yvonne Harrison..
